Our Projects

Creating, Restoring,
Rewilding

With and for nature and people

As an Irish not-for-profit, The Nature Trust’s sole focus is to create new native woodlands, restore biodiversity and rewild natural habitats in and for communities around Ireland.

As these woodlands mature, they will be open to the public to enjoy, relax, learn and connect with nature. We will engage with neighbours as these woodlands grow so we can explore the opportunities these outdoor spaces may offer to local communities.

  • Aviva is delighted to fund €5 million in afforestation projects throughout Ireland, through the Nature Trust. We are looking forward to seeing the positive impacts that this huge project will have in our local communities and for our people to get out and volunteer through this great initiative. With 400 hectares of planting, that will see an area of over 560 Aviva stadium pitches of new native forests across Ireland.

  • Protection has always been at the core of AXA’s business, helping individuals, companies, and societies to thrive. A key focal point of this ambition is a commitment and passion to act as a force for collective good. Our partnership with The Nature Trust will help deliver on that ambition, seeing 200 hectares of native forests planted, and developed as public amenities for the benefit of communities, public health, and the environment for generations to come.

    CEO of AXA DAC

  • This is a very exciting initiative in which we are delighted to be pioneers. Partnering with The Nature Trust enables investment in a long-term project to promote and create biodiversity-friendly native woodlands in Ireland. Hopefully we can be a beacon for other Irish SMEs as part of their earth-friendly efforts

  • We’re delighted to be a part of The Nature Trust’s ambitious initiative which aims to increase Ireland’s native tree cover. Such important initiatives help address the worsening global climate crisis and support native tree planting which protects and enhances native biodiversity and carbon sequestration

    Joe Codd

Business Development Director of Veon Forestry & Ecology

  • It was an absolutely lovely day, learning about the different trees planted. While the woodland is still very young we and our neighbours are looking forward to watching it grow and to any other events that will take place.
